No 131.
Fir,
H. Harbor Department,
Hong Kong 28 April 1881.
I have the honor to report
that I have examined 989 Chinese intended passengers/Emigrants,
by the Steam ship Glamis Castle as to whether they were free from any Contract of Service whatever; and I find that they were free from any Contract of Service whatever.
A considerable number of the emigrants have been in Sydney before.
One only out of the List, No. 408, admitted that he had a written agreement in the form of a card. This man's name, Wong Jaisin, has been taken off the list as being under contract.
